instead of having the same old "/his aproved games? XD" thread that appears every week lets just have a "general" instead
CK2 has some great mods for the /his/ gamer.
e.g. pic related. It's a mod for Crusader Kings 2 focused on Western Europe during and after the fall of the Roman Empire. It's excellent.
>instead of having the same thread that appears every so often let's have the same thread all the time
All the Field of Glory based games are great, especially multiplayer. I'm very excited about Field of Glory II.
Sengoku Jidai is kind of annoying in that you can't visually see troop quality, though. They didn't fully think that through.

Skip the Sid Meir crap, the Avalon Hill version is where it's at.
>>3243252
With or without expansions?
I only have base game because I can't into humble bundles
>>3243276
Used the wrong picture.
>>3243280
Buy the base game. Pirate all the DLC. It's the best way to play the game.
You don't really need any DLC for it but the Old Gods is highly recommended since much of the map is British pagan, Roman pagan, Frankish pagan etc.
Attila
I play with your mother

does anyone know how to play this gayme
Are there any good video games focused on religious politics in the Middle Ages and Early-Modern period?
>play vanilla Skyrim w/o mods
>try and go for historically accurate viking
Am I mentally challenged?

my internets so shitty it'll actually break connection periodically, direct downloads are hard for me yo. i'll be on nexus trying to download and then BAM! 0kbps/second. Download failed, can't resume, have to restart.
>>3242816

>>3243416
Up until after the vikings turn up, so yeah.
>>3243252
>It's a mod for Crusader Kings 2 focused on Western Europe during and after the fall of the Roman Empire.
So it's literally the same timeline as vanilla ck2?
>>3243441
>So it's literally the same timeline as vanilla ck2?
I mean the Western Roman Empire. Mod is 410-800 AD I think. The first bookmark starts with the Roman evacuation from Britain, the civil war between Honorius and Constantine III and the wars between Ambrosius Aurelianus and Vortigern. It goes up to the peak of the Frankish empire and the start of the Viking raids.
>>3243416
Ok, obviously not. Didn't realise it's Cornwalls Artus-Saga. Gonna try it out.
>>3243288
Paradox games without DLC just feel like incomplete games, I always pirate all the DLC

How historically accurate is the construction of liquor factories in every province of a nation between the years of 1836 and 1936?

Yeah I cracked it recently.
>Tax the poor early on, educate and promote clergy
>Invest in research that increases RGO output, this means that you can produce more food with fewer people
>This frees up manpower to convert to craftsmen, who can work your factories
>Build wineries and liquor distilleries, I haven't built much more ATM cause I'm learning what factories work best
This is as far as I have gotten, I'm about 1875 ATM. Also if you're going to do war, make sure you check infamy. I didn't and retardedly ended up completely disarmed and giving £100 a day to foreigners barely keeping my treasury and factories afloat
>>3243295
>want to restore the WRE
>the town battles are boring as fuck but if you want to keep your empire intact you have to fight them all to inflict heavy enough losses for your armies to finish them off
>get bored by turn 5, five hours later
>restart the WRE game
>abandon all settlements except tripoli tana
>with gorillions of pounds of gold suddenly appearing in my treasury I beat up rebels and hyper develop my three towns
>switch to minor religions as my official religion
>build a shrine to the dark gods
>resettle lands under a banner of cthulu
>have infinitely more fun
Memes aside is there a way to play the WRE that isn't a meme or soul grinding?
>>3244021
Alexi Grandi is the most influential man of the 1800s, taking the nation of Brazil from a state capitalist shithole along the lines of Memel to a first world lazy fair capitalist wonderland, with liquor factories as far as the eye can see
Are there any good bronze age or early iron age strategy games apart from AoE and Civ?
>>3244497
keep north africa secure along with the italian peninsula.
Oh, and revert to paganism.
>>3242816
>/his/ game general
How about no. Generals are fucking cancer.
Why not do a weekend general? Start a thread on Saturday, and one on Sunday if necessary, and discuss vidya there. It works for the Elder Scrolls lore threads on /tg/, and keeps the threads from dying super quick and keeps people from bitching. I'd be willing to help make a pastebin, if people would be on board with it.
>>3243419
There's a program called Free Download Manager which circumvents that problem.
tfw there hasn't been a proper /his/ city builder since anno 1404 in 2009 but more realistically
What happened? Will we ever manage to supersede the impressions games?
>>3245424
Empire Earth has exceptional game balance but terrible graphix + voice acting. It was from the same guys behind AoE.
Attila has way better mechanics but Rome 2 has a way better time period. What do?
Any opinions on eu4? pic related, first ironman run through. Brandenburg->Prussia->Germany. Gonna do a France run next
>>3245579
im certainly open for that i didnt want a constant general anyway
