Is there proof of a historical Jesus? Or was Jesus just a myth?
>"just" a myth

It's a fictional character, of course there's no proof.

Nice proof.

You don't need proof to claim Batman doesn't exist, you need (serious) proof to claim the other way around.

as much proof as there being a Caesar or an Alexander

Comparing Jesus to Batman demonstrates a serious deficiency in your mental capacities.
There's plenty of proof, from accounts recorded as Gospels to histories and letters between Roman officials that Jesus of Nazareth existed. Jesus the Christ on the other hand, probably not.
Tacitus's Annals actually mention him, and it's generally considered to be unaltered (unlike passages by Josephus) due to the incredibly negative light he portrays Christians in:
>Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judæa, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular.
And assuming at least partial accuracy of the Josephus quotes, we know that there was a guy named Jesus (or rather Yeshua bar Yusef), also called the Christos (anointed one), who preached in Judea and was executed by the Roman government during Pilate's time. That's all we can say for certain.

What don't you understand in "fictional character"? Do you prefer Tom Sawyer maybe?
>>3234755
I literally just said you need to back up your claim. What's the criteria for determining whether or not a person is fictional because I guarantee you're just shitposting.

>from accounts recorded as Gospels
gospels are written by people 250years after jesus died by people that have neber met him moron
>mfw there are still christians thaht think gospels were written by the apostates or people that met jesus
That's what even christian scholars admitt

in context of the text its only a passing mention since hes talking about Nero, wish he elaborated more on the early Christians.
