Is this true? Was this where the Temple really was?
Biblical prophecy says the temple will be destroyed and only one wall will be left standing. Since biblical prophecy is meaningless bullshit one should question how it could possibly be true. Simple, it's not. It's a wall from the Roman fort Antonia. The fort fell into ruin.
The Jews used to pray and the ruins of a Jewish Temple located elsewhere as mentioned by medieval pilgrims. Zionists saw Mizrahi Jews doing their wailing ritual (which they formerly did in the open when the Ottomans permitted them to do it). They moved to the ruined fort and the Ottomans reinforced it with additional stones and this symbolically was their temple wall of prophecy despite no Jewish YHWH temple ever being there unless Jo-ve is the same deity.
The roman temple was converted to a church, fell into ruin, and the muslims built the dome and mosque on the foundation reusing what little elements they could. The dome interior mentions Christians and Sabaeans but nothing about Jews. Jews never cared about it. After all, Jerusalem was raised down to the last stone according to Josephus. Aelia Capitolina was built in its place. Constantine renamed it Jerusalem a couple centuries afterward.
