What are your sources, /hist/? I'm looking for great history books, that possibly cover all history.
my ass
you're retarded, just give up right now. dont even bother trying to learn.
I'm gonna tell your ight now, if you want to get into history, don't try to learn about everything at once, and especially don't force yourself.
Start by doing things you already find entertaining and just delving a little deeper. Play civilization, but read the civilopedia entries for things. Keep doing that until you really get interested in a specific time/place combo.
When you find this, read the wikipedia pages for it. Wikipedia being inaccurate is mostly a huge meme, and you can complete entire college projects with wikipedia. After you read all the wikipedia pages, broaden out. No historical period is completely isolated, so read about the histories of people or cultures that are on the periphery of your chosen period. If you are reading about the Romans, when youa re done, read about the Persian empires they had to fight so often.
Do that for a really long time, like a year or two, until you have a basic knowledge of the most relevant parts of world history, but more importantly, until you desire a more in depth explanation of things. When this happens, is when you should start reading actual historical books about specific places and periods.
The truth is that no one can have a deep understanding of all history, so just make sure you know a bit about everything and then delve into the parts you find the most interesting.
