Germans had an obsession with the Sioux Native Tribe. They even went as far as claiming they were Aryans.

They claimed the Sioux were themselves Aryans? I could see how you could call the Sioux similar to the Aryans, with the Sioux's tribal dominance and expansion after acquiring horses, but to say they were descended from them seems to be a stretch. German interest in them makes some sense though since the areas they inhabited were settled almost entirely by Germans/Scandinavians.

They just got obsessed thanks to Karl May. Back in the 19th century, I don't think they genuinely had any idea what real Sioux lived or look like. Further, German-Aryan ideologies did not become mainstream until Several decades after the height of Karl May's popularity.

Because Anatolian Turks are basically Greeks and Armenians who converted to Islam. Actual Turks look more like Mongols.
