How did Rwanda bully the Congo into submission? Why are the Congo wars so overlooked?
The First Congo was what happens when you dedicate your entire career to destroying the small amount of political infrastructure that your country has and then salting the earth so that none can ever grow again after you.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Kagame is a brilliant tactician and a poor strategist.
>manage to invade the Congo
>put some random retard in charge instead of contacting the real Congolese political opposition
>have to invade a second time
>fail because your coalition won't go along with a second Congo War

The Congo is too big for its own good honestly, large population centers in the east are nearly impossible to get to from the capital in the west. When those Eastern centers also support large refugee/native population from your enemies, it's even worse. I don't know what would have been needed for them to win the first time around, but they surely didn't have it.

If it held together, fedralism might have helped, at least the corruption would be spread out and some roads could get built.
>We don't need roads, I need a fancy hat
>Soliders don't need pay, they have guns

I was expecting that tiny sliver of coastline to be almost all a big metropolis, but there is almost nothing there. Such a big country that is so undeveloped. All those resources are just sitting there doing nothing.
