Ever wonder why the only achievements of Turks you hear about is conquest? Turks can't into culture or technological advancement. It took them for fucking ever to accept the Printing Press, after about 1600 all they did was conquer weak Muslim lands and grow more and more corrupt and useless like all Turk Empires. While they were degenerating the west was having breakthroughs in all fields and finding a way to trade to Asia without needing to go through the Middle-east the Ottomans didn't have an answer to this development.

Even the advanced Cannon they used to take Constantinople wasn't even made by them.
