In general you can't see/think of pre-modern peoples as some monolithic single block of 100% we arr rook same. I say that more in the sense of "Hurr all Scythians were blonde and blue eyed" "Durr all Iranians were as dark as the Elamite art". Not saying they were multikult like Americans are today but you still had migrations, invasions, introductions and intermingling of slaves or foreign populations. Ancient Egyptian language is Afro-Asiatic, which is a Semitic language family. Arabic, Amharic, Tigray, Hebrew, etc are all afro-asiatic.

The position of modern scholarship is that the Ancient Egyptians were native to the Nile River Valley region. Other's migrated to the region from the Sahara when it dried out, even more, around 5,000 years ago.

As you have stated, there was a black minority inhabiting Egypt, who came from Nubia and maybe also Abyssinia to a smaller extent.

The Egyptian people have always and continue to confuse people because they don't fit into the neatly defined concepts of race, especially today in light of American racial concepts.
