Why is it so easy for humans to commit sin? Why are people usually more inclined to do bad than to do good? Even if people rationally know something is wrong and is harmful to themselves and others, they still do it for the temporary pleasure it brings, like an addiction. Why?

People punish themselves for their short term pleasures because they know it's not what's best in the long run, but have trouble stopping.

We have evolved for scarcity so when we encounter in surplus we indulge in it, subconsciously thinking we have to prepare for a famine right around the corner.
The concept of sin is archaic. It is a remnant of times when religious law was the only existing one. Wherever secular law dominates, sin has absolutely no meaning or value.
