Yes, Amanitore was a real queen, she was kinda interesting, Nubia was a pretty awesome culture, and managed to actually be khangs and shit against the Libyan onslaught, and it isn't by far the weirdest thing Civ has done.

As something of an expert on "Nubia", actually called the Kushite Kingdom, I can tell you that they had many female rulers, it was their customer, and they were very powerful. They would be called the Candace.

I'm happy that they mix it up because the games get really stale if it's the exact same civilziations in all games but picking Australia still baffles me.
