>Octavian's assassinations were justif-
They probably shouldn't have stabbed his Uncle to death, opitmates scum
On a side note Octavian argued for Cicero to be spared, but angry chad Antony wouldn't relent
He was a CONSUL OF ROME
bitch should've listened to Caesar

Which one?
Listen, Cicero was a huge pussy, and probably just as power hungry as Caesar, just in a more conservative sense.
Remember, he did have Catiline murdered, and supported the murder of Caesar once he "found out."
He was also a huge coward and a pussy.
Also, the official story is that Octavian opposed Cicero's placement on the proscription orders, and only conceded when it would have caused issue with Antony.
But that official line comes from the Imperial camp, so whatever

>Why was he loosely connected to killing the republic's two worst enemies?!
How does letting the senate decide make you a pussy?
>>3149259
Nah, he was a pussy, because whenever it came time for Cicero to be scrutinized by the government all his wit and composition faded away, leaving only a whimpering little whelp.
Him being a pussy was a character trait

That racist bastard deserved that and more

u mad Germ boi?

>probably just as power hungry as Caesar
Very unlikely, considering he hated bloodshed (he was, as you say, a wretched coward) and basically dropped the ball completely once he made consul.
He was more a social climber looking to get 'in', and live out like the stereotypical rich patrician than an actual power hungry man.
Sadly for him, he was only ever looked by other patricians as a parvenu, a latin hick with nothing but his rhetoric skill to his worth.

>He did have Cataline murdered
What? Cataline was killed in battle after the conspiracy had been exposed? The conspirators were "murdered" depending on your viewpoint of it, but only after they had tried to murder Cicero and set fire to the city.

I love how people are forcing their shitty values on what was probably the fastest execution in history.
>Alright so these guys spent the last decade trying to overthrow the roman republic and burn the city down, do we let them go or what?
>>3149014
either one
but if he teamed up with the first one he probably could've saved the republic
>>3149014
Julius. When Cicero decided to not join forces with the triumvirate he kind of helped to kill the republic. Once Octavian became Caesar it was too late anyways. Though perhaps if he hadn't cucked Antonius so hard Cicero would have at least survived the second triumvirate.
