/pol/.

This. /lit/ is 75% retarded unlike /his/, that is 98% retarded. Some people in there actually read.

/tg/ is actually a good board for discussion about historical stuff since a lot of fantasy is based off of real life history. For example I saw a thread asking a fantasy related question about if dragons were real and the thread partially turned into a discussion about ancient megafauna. I learned from it that Australia was once home to a giant lizard species called Megalania and that Aboriginals made them go extinct because they basically just light everything on fire to hunt, which also has the side effect of turning forests into savannahs.
>>
>>3144873
>Aboriginals made them go extinct because they basically just light everything on fire to hunt
to be fair if there were giant maneating lizards anywhere near where i live i would also set everything on fire

/pol/ had historical, philosophical and theological discussions before /his/ existed and is a main reason why /his/ got created, because many people on /pol/ demanded a board that wouldn't be littered by current events. The best debate I ever had on the New Testament exegesis was on /pol/ in like 2013, while religion threads tend to collapse into shitposting circlejerks on this board.
>>
>>3145034
everytime ive looked at that board it's just
>muh women are degenerate
>muh x race is cuck
>muh trump tweet
>>

Well, I'm sorry you discovered 4chan during this election cycle.
>>
>>3145088
ive been here since 2006, i just didnt frequent /pol/. i used to post on /lit/
>>
>>3145088
also i was specifically referring to contemporary /pol/

Cuck meme only started out in 2014 so it's obvious you haven't been on 4chan for very long.

pretending what? i dont get it

Pretending that /pol/ was always about calling people cucks when it's a pretty fucking recent phenomenon.
>>
>>3145182
i told you i was referring to contemporary /pol/, this thread is about boards you currently browse not boards you browsed in the past, otherwise i would have mentioned /lit/ in the op...but i didnt since ive hardly browsed that board since fucking brownbear threads was a thing
>>
>>3145196
ok not entirely true i did come back to /lit/ for a little while when constantine was around since her dostoevsky threads were good

>BUT /r/AskHistorians is very good
Unironically this. You can accuse them of having a leftist bias, but they actually source their information, not with en.wikipedia.org and history.com, but actual scholarly books and journals.

>>

You can literally get banned on /his/ for calling someone a kike.
>>
>>3146172
yeah but that's name calling
If you'd get banned for trying to discuss jewish influence thorough history that would be something else
>>
>>3146196
You can literally get banned ever for that as long as some faggot reports you. I guess not on /pol/ but every other board is free game, mods will just abuse Global Rule 3 which itself is completely obsolete and if enforced properly it would mean 90% of 4chan content should be bannable.
>>
>>3146224
It depends whether you are reported. I've gotten warnings for light things but seen blatant spamming go unchecked.
>>
>>3144827
It's amazes me how there is ACTUAL discussion on /lit/. Don't know how they do it.
>>
>>3145034
All threads on /pol/ are circle jerks. If anyone breaks the circle jerking routine they are saged or banned.
>>
>>3144686
/a/, /m/, /k/, /jp/, /o/.
>>
>>3146202
The rule is pretty useful for getting rid of off topic racist posts. Call it obsolete if you want but when /pol/ seeps into every board and claims /pol/ is 4chan that rule is useful for getting more on topic posts pushed up or getting rid of the posters.
>>
/co/, /mlp/, a couple threads on /vg/. Sometimes I try to browse /asp/ but god damn most of /asp/ is retarded.
>>
I posted on 8ch /his/ long before 4ch /his/ was created. I kinda moved from there here, it was a dead board already back then and i'd imagine it's even more dead now.

i also browse /int/ and /lit/.

/tg/, back in the late 2000s, used to be my go-to spot on 4chan just because the userbase had a lot of knowledge on just about every subject, and back then moderation was pretty lax, leading to the slogan "/tg/ - you don't even need the other boards anymore." Lots of historical events and humanities were discussed how they would relate to one's campaign or how events might go down when you change a couple of things.

Eventually, a new moderation group stepped in and started to cull a lot of the off-topic discussion. This had the beneficial effect of removing a multitude of "elf girl, wat do" threads, monstergirl porn was moved to /d/, but it also killed off a lot of historical, political, and religious discussion as well. A side effect of those purges also meant a lot of the more wild homebrew that /tg/ was fond of developing, along with storytelling, also went with the off-topic threads, most often being killed because it strayed too near taboo topics. This slowed the board down to an absolute crawl for a while, and then the quest threads started appearing.

Quest threads eventually became so numerous that /tg/ was entirely overrun by them. Upwards of 50-60% of the board, at any given time, became a slew of "choose your own adventure" or quest threads. Discussion began to congregate into general threads in effort to consolidate board space and prevent slower threads from falling off the board, leading to a reduction in discussion since most interesting questions were buried within general threads instead of showing up on the front page and later the board index.

/his/'s creation sort of brought back some of the discussion, but in a less fanciful and more aggressive way.
>>
>>3145101
Pretty sure /pol/ was /new/ back then. I went a few times around 2009 but it seemed like mostly porn.
