What he had was pretty fucking close, he pretty much had uncontested political power within the Kuomintang, which means even more within the one party state.
Although, Chiang might not have fucked up Chinese culture like Mao did, really didn't do any wonders in the long run, christ imagine the shit that was lost during the purge of traditionalism.

Anyways round 2 of the shit that goes on in Latin America: Guatamala edition. So Guatamala had a very blood revolution backed by the U.S government. The indian population was pretty much genocided in the northern section of the country until there were no one left. Generals then divided the land amongst themselves and sold it off to the Americans for a profit to enrich themselves.
