Is Russian Civil War interesting or disappointing?
>>3138994
it's disappointing in a sense that commies won
>>3139054
Obviously (like in China; it seems commies win pretty often) but what about the war itself. I was trying to learn more about it but the documentary I watched about it made it seem quite unremarkable. I guess it's just the presentation that failed. I think the entire period of "wars of the pygmies" following WWI was incredibly interesting. So many countries that lasted for like a year and never returned.

Really interesting, especially for all the obscure and weird shit that went down. Like "Heart of Darkness"/"Apocalypse Now" actually happening in Mongolia. Or an anarchist polity being created in Ukraine. Or Czechoslovaks making an Anabasis on armoured trains through all of Siberia and accidentally capturing Russian gold reserves in progress.

Can any Russiabros tell me what the average Russian's thoughts are on the Whites? Are they sympathetic? Unsympathetic? Or indifferent?
Do they feel that the right side won or that the wrong side did?
>>3139567
Very unsympathetic. The Greens are the side most Russians feel got a bad deal / wish had won, no-one misses the Whites and very few want the Reds back.

Start being buddhist.

The only Russian I know is a history grad student, but he and I have discussed it at length.
He has a bit of a contradictory view, in that he thinks the February Revolution was a mistake, but that the Red Army indeed should have won the Civil War because they were the most unified faction and the only hope for a strong Russia in the future.
>>3139585
Bullshit, just look at fucking Russian opinion polls, Nicholas II and Lenin both do well in them, but nobody even fucking asks about the Greens.
>>3139585
>The Greens
You're referring to the Peasants' militias right? The ones who were literally only fighting to defend their homes from everyone else. Not to advance an ideology.
I was shocked to find out that after the civil war, Communist Russians were starving and FUCKING AMERICANS were FEEDING them.

I wish they let those red scum die, better dead than red.

Free Territory is like something straight out of a dystopian novel. Well the Bolshevik state was one as well. And it's not just this particular war but all wars that took place in the region in years 1917-1922 between various communist forces, Whites, Germans and armies of new independent countries. In all configurations. Wiki just lists Polish-Bolshevik war as a part of the Russian Civil War which is wrong. There should be a better term to describe the whole mess. It was East European War.
>>3139633
Oh and western allies as well sent their expedition forces.
Maybe not a pan-European war(s) but a bit like the Thirty Years War only focused in a different region.
>>3139633
Churchill called it the Pygmy Wars.
