Bumping this.
I want to know this too.
just read wikipedia pages than go from there to finding books about specific subjects/events of the war.
I am actually reading this right now.
The english name is :
The fall of the house of dixie by Bruce Levine
Is quite interesting and talks mainly about the destruction of slavery but it calls some battles too, is not extremly specific but is a good start I think

Also Bruce Levine has make quite some others books on the Civil War but for now I am reading this, next book Year Zero (not related to the thread but seems a good book)
Shelby Foote's 3 volume Civil War is generally considered to be pretty good. There is also the Ken Burns documentary if you are more into that kind of thing.
"Battle Cry of Freedom" by James M. McPherson is the best one volume account of the Civil War. I'd also recommend "For Cause and Comrades", also by McPherson.
This is essential viewing

What does "Battle cry of freedom" talks about specifically in the civil war ?

This. Ken Burns makes the best historical documentaries, No shitty footage of reenactments, just pictures and footage from the time.

It's a summary of the lead up/circumstances that started the war, the war itself (including political concerns that motivated strategy on both sides), and a little bit of the aftermath.
