Try to make their stories sound as dramatic/badass as possible. It helps if they had a life of badassery, rather than committing one particularly amazing act. I'll start with the obvious one, pic related is basically real life Batman, complete with the martial arts skills, refusal to simply kill any of the men armed thugs he dealt with, achievements in many different academic fields, inhuman ability to never get shot, and extreme toughness. He even patrolled the streets of crime-ridden New York at night when he was the police commissioner. A small list of his achievements before he became President:

>Perfect superhero origin: was a sickly youth with many health problems including poor eyesight and chronic asthma (later in life, he was also blind in one eye from a boxing accident), yet rose to badassery with pure hard work and gumption

>Charged up San Juan Hill during the Spanish American War at the front of his unit, braving heavy enemy fire while on horseback. After getting to the top two rifle-toting Spanish soldiers came out of a blockhouse to fire at him; they missed, and immediately after he shot one dead with his revolver while the other retreated.

>Tracked and caught three armed bandits who stole his boat in the badlands. He captured them at night while they were off guard and separated from their weapons in a ninja esque fashion. Instead of just shooting them as would be standard in the vigilante west, he chose to haul them back to civilization for a fair trial. Roosevelt was left to single-handedly escort the thieves back to town at the barrel of a gun via a 36 hour trek in the winter with no sleep.

>Patrolled the streets of New York as if he was a beat cop (he was the commissioner) to make sure his officers were doing their jobs; if he saw them neglecting their duties or taking bribes, he'd fire them on the spot.

>As a commissioner of the NYPD he also played a huge part in reforming the corrupt NYPD and among other things had telephones installed in station houses, made officers take regular firearms and fitness exams, established Meritorious Service Medals, closed corrupt police hostelries, and hired more than 1,600 officers based on their qualifications, not their political connections

>Became the USA's first third degree brown belt in judo and was a runner-up in several boxing competitions at Harvard.

>Knocked out a drunk thug in a bar with four quick punches after said thug pulled two revolvers on him, not even pausing when the guns went off mid-fight (he said himself that he didn't know if the thug was trying to shoot him or if it was just a convulsion after being punched in the head). He then took the man's guns and threw him in a shed to be dealt

>Knifed a cougar to death after jumping off his horse while on a hunt with a friend.

>Shot a grizzly bear in the skull straight between the eyes while it was charging him.

>Upon hearing that a man named Paddock had been hired to shoot him off his land, went to the man's home and simply told him: "I understand you have threatened to kill me on sight. I have come over to see when you want to begin the killing.” Paddock promptly backed off.

>Stood outside and gave a two-hour speech in Milwaukee immediately after being shot in the chest in an assassination attempt, only seeking medical attention after his speech was finished.

>As an old man, made an expedition to the hot and disease-ridden Amazon, where he discovered a new river.

>Climbed the Matterhorn while on his honeymoon

>On top of this all, was a respected historian and writer as well as a cum laude graduate of Harvard University, graduate of Columbia Law School, the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, colonel in the Army, explorer, and a botanist/naturalist, among many other academic achievements
>>
Theodore "I'll Kill a Thousand Spaniards, Before a Single Bear" Roosevelt
>>
>be taken away as a young boy into opressive regime
>life as you knew changes and you have to adapt to your masters customs and traditions
>manage to survive under their rule and become a highly respected general in their army
>have a change of heart and decide to free your people from their opressive rule
>fight against a empire all on your own with nothing but but a few thousand peasants and aristocrats to back you
>even after fate has let you down time and time again you still succefully defend against the invaders
>the only thing able to take you down was malaria
>>
