It's amazing how stupid the germans were during ww1 and 2.

They could just have waited for france to enter one of it's decadely rebellions, and walk in as a peacekeeping force, not only chipping off territory in the process, but also having either the new or old government in their debt/gratitude for helping out, depending on the side chosen.

In the same way that Brazil and Mexico "won" the second world war. Being in a war on the side of the countries that actually won it is hardly a decisive contribution.

yeah but the big three can obviously claim they won. France is weird because, technically, they were in almost a civil war as well.
