Were cavemen real? Are there any good books on them?
>Were cavemen real?
There's a great documentary series about pre-historic man called "The Flintstones". Check it out.

Where else would we have lived?
Do you think caves were just used as coloring books?

Most "cavemen" didn't live in literal caves but there are places in the world with lost of suitable caves for habitation (southern France for example) where people were living in caves until the 20th century. Hell, people probably STILL live in caves, somewhere in the world, even if they're just outlaws on the lam.

Is there actually any proof that humans used to live in caves?
>>3105161
>proof
There are bones from food and hearthfires, as well as paintings and even burials in caves. None of this is "proof" because history isn't a field of math.

If you mean hunter-gatherers, they still exist to this day in beacons of progress like Namibia or Papua New Guinea.
People certainly did use to use caves for shelter and as a place for religious rituals and worship, but I don't think it was their primary living space, at least not for anatomically modern humans.
People didn't actually live in caves, but probably did use them for shit like >>3105376 said.

There is a bias towards caves in popular culture because some of them were occasionally used as ritual sites (much less for constant living) but they were naturally sealed off and preserved a big chunk of the Stone age artifacts we have today. The wooden/mud shacks Stone age men must have built obviously wasted away millennia ago
