Simply move faster to crush the revolution. There were plenty of close calls historically that didn't lead to a monarchy being overthrown, decisive and brutal action could have saved the Bourbons. Hell, the revolutionaries learned this lesson themselves only a few years later, look at Napoleon's famous "whiff of grapeshot".
By actually running the kingdom instead of playing with locks

Crushed using what?
The reason the revolution got out of hand in the first place was because the nobles threw an autistic fit.
If he had tried to crush the initial assembly of the estates he would have been deposed. By that point he had no willing creditors and couldn't buy enough mercenaries and the nobels where ready to have at him.
By the time the aristocracy began to realize what they had kicked off it was too late to crush it. The Republicans were able to crush the aristocracy, fight a semi religious civil war, and invade in every direction at the same time.
Also, he tried to crush the early revolution by getting Austria to invade but then Austria just ended getting btfo like everyone else that fought France during that period.

Literally not Louis' fault. The nobles being unpatriotic cunts who screeched "REEEEE ABSOLUTISM MUH LIBURTEEEH" at any attempt at by the king to make them pay theor share for the national defense
