Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. We don't know. We do know, however, that his family in general, and his father in particular, detested the nazis. That he was a member of the Hitler Youth isn't particularly noteworthy as it was mandatory at the time.

To my knowledge he wasn't a Nazi and his family hated Hitlers regime because they gassed a down syndrome family member of his. Also pope Benedict is kind of a liberal who's stated that he deeply respects Jews and Judaism(false ecumenism.) Which he was taught in the 1950s seminary by a liberal professor who corrupted theological learning for other German seminarians.

I wasn't much a fan of Benedict when he was pontiff, but I do have to say that I was rather impressed with his decision to resign when he felt he was no longer physically able to effectively carry out his duties, as he had criticized John Paul II for not doing so when his health faded, which left the church without leadership during the priest molestation scandals.
