It's amazing how much stuff we've had to revisit because we dismissed ancient/medieval ideas that turned out to be true. Everything from the Old Testament to the Xia Dynasty to King Arthur seems to have some factual basis behind it.

Loads of stuff how technology worked, what the things they experienced amounted to, intricate details about the world they couldn't find out about since resources and technology was limited, what other parts of the world looks like and what are their inhabitants ideas of it.
It's because we learn from the ancients that we can criticize their works
