They were as advanced if not more advanced in architecture, just worse infrastructure and far less urbanized

Yes, a good deal of it. Many things stayed around. People didn't just forget how to build houses and chairs and the like, they just couldn't import fancy marble from Greece any more.
The only places where they stopped using Roman techniques were Northern Europe East of France, where G*rmans built their stuff.
