It turned into beer-drinking club for "old guard" NSDAP members who were growing increasingly old and fat. They LARPed as a some sort of territorial defense and were officially tasked with manning fortifications within Germany.
They were irrelevant but still quite famous and respectable, since SA remained an important part of Nazis' mythology.
