If Russia didn't became Communist 1917 and instead would have just continued to become a free-market capitalist economy, would you think they would be maybe the 2nd largest economy after the USA or the 3rd ?
I mean they had potential - large population, large territory, lots of resources.

Look at the provisional government
It would be aristocratic democracy rather than bourgeois democracy

So you don't think it would have become as rich as say Germany or France or the UK?.

idk they weren't such an industrial powerhouse before the forced industrialisation by stalin and i doubt any tsar would do it to such an extend. they would probably be a late blooming industrial country such as Brazil or India.
What an awful way of asking a question. Doesn't matter because it didn't happen that way, you can't possibly know what would have happend. The factors that are involved are so complex and do not operate in a vaccuum.
This is not how to look at history, for you then you are creating a alternate reality in which everything could have happend.
What if Hitler won the war? What if there was no slavery? What if the roman empire never became so big? what if the revolutionaires lost the war? What if their was no apartheid? What if the printing press was never invented? was if the printing press was invented 500 years earlier. You would become mad, since you can never know this shit.
