How would France have repelled the invasion? What should it have done beforehand?

If you go back far enough i would say devolop a more offensive doctrine and strike germany quuckly and decissively, but that would require so many changes that its not really worth talking about.
Pretty much just counterattack the Ardennes offensive immediately instead of spending four fucking days refusing to acknowledge that it existed.

Realizing that they had rough air parity instead of a massive deficiency as they mistakenly assumed, and then in turn actually posting reserves behind the line because yes, you will be able to move them once battle has joined.
Hell, France doesn't even need to win 1940 outright, the combined economy of France and Britain (nevermind if they start getting help from the U.S.) already dwarf that of Germany. They don't need to win, just not lose.

Overrated meme.

French tanks, as engineering pieces, were usually better than their German counterparts. It was their tank doctrines that failed, not the machines themselves. They needed to realize that "never leave artillery support, no, not even them" was dumb as shit.
