Culture represents how far we've come from our baser, animal instincts. It's a demonstration of excess, that we are able and willing to walk on roads of stone instead of paths of dirt. The individual variations of culture help us to identify those among us whose ancestors walked a similar journey, and how far along the journey they have gone.
>>
Everything of value created by humans is the part of the culture.
>>
Culture in itself means 'group of people'. This can be anything from a bunch of kids in a specific classroom to an entire nation like China.

Please define what you mean by 'culture'.

Let me rephrase. Taking a look at African culture, it's apparent they like to do things like put plates in their lower lip and artificially lengthen their neck with bronze rings. They also do other stupid shit like eat dead monkeys for some reason. In what way is this culture valuable?
>>
Culture= subjective bullshit that changes with time

>They also do other stupid shit like eat dead monkeys for some reason.
You do know most cultures eat animals too, right?
>>
>>3021404
Almost all cultures did stupid shit
Europeans used deadly makeups, the Chinese had women's feet bound to make them small. But those were consequence s of creating culture in the first place. Culture was created for social cohesion, and as time went on they went on to develop bizarre practices as the culture evolved in its own bubble from everyone else.

Not everything in culture is valuable, it can be completely stupid or retrograde, but the reason culture is created is valuable. Also different cultures have different perspectives, a reason why Europe developed so much stuff, was because it was splintered into so many different cultures that did so many different things, and so stuff like philosophy and science could develop as different outlooks clashed and merged.

>In what way is this culture valuable?
When a member of one of those cultures sees another individual with the same "decorations," they understand that they come from a common root, and they define themselves by the same journey of cultural development that led up to the present day. So for them it is a way for them to recognize their kin.

For us, for whom these "decorations" are grosteque, it demonstrates that the lineage with which the African tribesman identifies went through a significantly different journey of development than the one we identify with did. You could say that they are less advanced for doing so, but I don't think it's that different from Russians who go through plastic surgery to look exactly like barbie dolls and West Coasters that bake themselves Tan. We may never understand it, but we can also respect that they went down a completely different road and still came this far. Many cultures didn't.

Jews and all their slave states cut little boys dicks off in the name of (hygeine?), is that valuable?
>>
>>3021404
It creates a sense of belonging in the group, strenghtens bonds and upholds a structure of order and hierarchy within a community.

Some cultures don't percieve that it's wrong to do things like eating dogs. The same way chads of the 90s would judge you for using a computer for hours every day, even today normal people don't think it's "right" to post on 4chan.

There's no correct culture. What do you consider 'valuable'?

So that "Europeans" who have actually never progressed niggers can still manage to feel superior to Americans because they've been around longer.

there really was no need

1. Diversity of thought and cultural exchange leads to progress 2.It can lead to tribalism which isn't good but tribalism can lead to competition which can also lead to progress 3. It would be boring if we were all the same, sounds cliche but it's true, variety is the spice of life. 4. Delicious food (kinda goes under 1 and 3 but it's important enough to be it's own)

I think issues mainly arise when people start to feel superior or inferior and try to force their culture on others or play the victim and try to turn everyone against another group.
>>
>>3022105
Competition doesn't mean progress though really.
>>
>>3022105
progress towards what exactly?
>>
>>3021404
It is to do with human tribalism and instincts. Only a woman raised in the culture will have the lip plates or neck rings, you know her father was protecting her and made sure she didn't go off, fuck a bunch of guys and get syphilis. She will be able to marry a boy who is a good herdsman and is sometimes paid to drove other men's cattle, she will live long with a large family and be happy.

The modern world changed all this, there is no syphilis and there is more wealth so people don't have to make marriages of convenience, but the traditions stuck.

Common beliefs, behaviors, traditions, and modes of thinking are the basic foundation of what makes people do shit beyond basic survival.

A different culture might have less crime that disrupts people and destroys resources. Or simply inspire someone to work towards improving their homeland. Or valuing nature, or their fellow human beings. The power of public shame and pride and belonging is huge on a person, and what a culture considers matters of shame, pride, or acceptable has compounding effects.

Culture isn't something exclusive to humans. Primates with different patterns of response to certain things like fake snake attacks are a thing. Some handle things differently. Sometimes it's just a different noise to signal danger, though. But one group might have a specific word for snake/predator danger, while another might just have a noise for danger in general. The more specific one is usually more advantageous, though. Knowing to look out for a snake saves time and confusion.

>>3021404
Not all cultures are created equal. They all have some retarded points but some offer little to actually make life better. Some are almost completely destructive and terrible.
