So how the fuck did homo-sapiens survive [pic related] for 6 years after the Toba eruption? And will the Yellowstone eruption be similar?
hunt what they could
eat what they could
cannibalize probably
eventually the population would be at such a low point that it could be sustained by a recovering ecosystem and would regain strength as the ecosystem did too
this is total unfounded bullshit mind you, just my two cents which i think are pretty reasonably assumptions

>No sources from scientists on how the few that survived actually survived.
>Yellowstone will erupt one day and I won't know what to do.
Thanks for nothing.

Don't worry, you will die and others will carry on. Just like back then.

anon, there was only ashfall in the local region. it was the climate that was changed. people survive drought like they always survive drought.
>>3010081
but most people don't survive drought that's kind of the problem.

If you want scientific opinions you should go read those scientific papers

Just put a giant plug into the hole.

As someone who did my undergrad in physics please don't ever go to /sci/ for a legitimate question, that place is amateur as fuck.

Life finds a way.
They had to develop ways to exploit other niches that were more unaffected by the eruption.
IMO, Toba eruption and rise of behavioral modernity are closely linked.
I'd imagine something with fishing perhaps, a migration towards the coastline and the adoption of that manner of technology.

So why do you think this board is going to be any different?
I don't know too much about Toba (VEI 8) but Tambora 1815 (VEI 7), potentially combined with a potential increase in volcanism preceeding it (increased Sulphur compound deposits in ice cores I believe forms the evidence) was pretty damn disruptive and deadly, causing the last significant subsistence crisis in North America and Europe. Look up the year without summer.

Welcome to /his/ mother fucker, the only thing this board can do is create loli, anime, fanfic bullshit about getting anne frank pregnant.
>>3012783
Do you think Yellowstone could have the power to wipe out all life as we know it? Would North America survive? Would the world be darkened for 7 years?
