yes all philosophy post plato is pretty much a ripoff....
plato started and ended philosophy.

it is interesting how many of the later ideas can be found in Plato
so it's true to an extent
but I think certain sciences like astronomy have influenced philosophy in ways that would not be possible with the scientific knowledge of Plato's time

Yep why even bother to be a philosopher.
Plato solved all the problems, we can rest now and read him from time to time ignoring all others and of course we shall not have own thoughts, we must copy and paste everything Plato has said. Why even consider having scientific thoughts, when we can make allegories like him to say what we mean. lol

Actually Plato was wrong from the ground up and him losing influence over western schools of thoughts is what made the west start the scientific revolution.

Basically Plato = the philosophy behind religion
Aristotle = the philosophy behind science
