Passion and difficulty to study

As this board was founded I was also on a manic phase of bipolar cycle. When I read books on history, I was thinking less about the books themselves but more about how "interesting" they were. I was wondering: those people watching TV and playing videogames, why didn't they realize learning about history is so much fun and why didn't I start reading earlier.

But I know this state isn't really helpful, because it is in fact a sign that I am not interested in reading and want to watch movies and play video games.

So I guess it's important to have you people with me, so that when I am manic or depressed I have an objective comparison to check my own status. Thanks.
