Yes because culture provides an identity for the weak minded, myself included, to fall back on when they fail to construct an identity of their own in their early adulthood.
Not sure how small ethnicites are supposed to maintain their culture in a realistic way though and you've got to take into account the destructive influence that multiculturalism has on ethnic cultures.
Ireland has done this fairly well though right? Or do most irish see having gaelic everywhere as just being LARPing?
