As the oil dries up, so will the Kingdom. It will take a decade or two, hell, maybe even a war with Iran, but it will collapse. Collapse into what, I don't know.

Perhaps it would start as a Medieval battle between factions in the House of Saud (Each Wife had sons, who allied with other sons, to form factions that alternated Kingship to the present). Perhaps it might end in an Islamist Coup. Perhaps it might fragment along regional/ethnic lines.

At the end, though, it isn't going to last. Oil can't buy stability.

Because Saudi Arabia is a real fucking monarchy: a state centered around a dynasty that its people recognizes as sovereign by right of protecting them (which Ibn Saud proved) and providing for them (which modern SA proves).

Hell just look at the country's name: it has the name of the family in it: Kingdom of SAUDI Arabia. Thats like back in history when the region is filled with Dynastic states like Seleucids or Ottomans.
