Ashkenazi Jews come from Anatolia, Greece, and ancient Italy. They're basically the descendants of Israelite men and Roman women. Most genetic maps put them in the same cluster as Italians and Greeks. Ashkenazis aren't "fake" Jews, they have an origin in the Middle East too
