everyone whines about "fake" people or whatever, but in reality everyone is "fake." There's nothing wrong with pretending to be a certain way because at the end of the day all people are imperfect. No one in their right mind would want to show their imperfections to someone the want to impress.

Your "character" shouldn't be entirely fictional. "just bee urself :^)" as they say. Think about your interests and just build off of those. What are your ideals? What are you good at? What are you bad at? In the end your character SHOULD be appealing to others. Don't try and be a contrarian autist. Literally no reason to do that.
