Imagine if you will a slithery snake
That leaves dead Russians in its wake
Serpent for the bloody red army
Whose wave tactics are really quite barmy

Though one of many slender creatures
He once had quite human features
Born the son of a humble peasant
Yet his company would become unpleasant

The Second World War changed all that
And as if with a drop of a hat
He transformed into a creature of significant girth
And through conflict and war sought his worth

This reptile was appointed to Leningrad
That would make any lesser snake mad
But his souls stealing eyes saw no fear
Because of all his reserves to the rear

Stalingrad would be his greatest achievement
Though millions dead and in bereavement
No mercy could be seen in this ophidian
With a soul as black as obsidian

Then he slithered his way to the west
Leaving many a Russian corps to rest
The German capital was his end
And many a young soldier he did send

The Garden of Eden also featured a snake
Humanities happiness he did take
And yet one must stop and ponder
If that Serpent was actually Zhukonda
