Those wall paintings lead me to think ancient Egyptians didn't wear that much clothing.

Those guys wrapped head-to-toe have more of a Berber-Arabesque style. Before wahabism made men dress like Lawrence of Arabia and women look like ninjas. Loose clothes provide shade under the blazing desert sun.
