I hear people often using LARPing as a criticism, i.e. "X is just LARPing as Y" But what's specifically wrong with it? Is it a valid criticism?

It's generally just butthurt from people who don;t realize that everything is just LARPing. Left to our own natures, we'd just be sitting in caves grunting at one another. We need LARP to make more of ourselves than our animal natures allow.

>X is just LARPing Y
This can be related to someone pretending to be someone they are in real life
such as a jew larping as a white guy
or in other cases such as white nationalism, where someone wants a 100% white ethno state blonde hair blue eye only, which simply isn't possible (right now)

sorry, meant aren't
if you're "role playing" it generally means pretending to be somebody else.

Larper here:
Because people seriously pretending to be shit they are not is fucking annoying.
I larp, and I constantly accuse american liberals of larping as brave revolutionaries, because that's what they've been fucking doing. I'd know, I do the same thing on the weekend, except I know that i'm not actually a medival roman-esque soldier with hundreds of kills to my name.
I'm an office worker who's only killed animals, and need to go to the gym.
It's a generic insult meant to call the validity of something into question. The reality is of course that all religion is just LARPing. Christians LARP as LE EBIN DEUTCH VAULTING CRUSADERS, Jews LARP as their ancestors, Neopagans LARP as their ancestors, Hindus LARP as their ancestors but with more arms and more poo, Buddhists LARP about not suffering until they don't, Muslims LARP as Muhammed.
The only difference is some people romanticize some aesthetics whereas other people romanticize other aesthetics and the aesthetics you don't romanticize are CLEARLY not genuine, unlike the aesthetics you romanticize which are far more genuine and """"""traditional"""""".
