Where did the united provinces get the money for the rebellion? What was the role of the English? How the french civil war entangled with the whole affair? Catholics and Calvinists, which community was more fanatic?

Spanish Netherlands was the wealthiest region at the time
The dutch actually repaid their creditors and built decent trust, which usually meant they could reliably secure loans at decent interest. Unlike the Spanish crown that was like a black hole for investors and would just as happily threaten you to pay them more when they defaulted on their last loan.

>Where did the united provinces get the money for the rebellion?
They were the richest region in europe at that time
> What was the role of the English?
They offered some soldiers and money but most importantly they together with the dutch navy blockaded the english channel preventing the spanish army of the netherlands from receiving supplies and reinforcements by sea effectively stopping spain from just steamrolling the united provinces through sheer numbers
>How the french civil war entangled with the whole affair?
Well thes spanish intervention in the french wars of religion involved the spanish army of the netherlands durong the early days of the dutch republic. By the time spain was able to fully concentrate on the netherlands the dutch revolt was already too large to be put down without great cost

The French Civil War was critical because at its outbreak the Duke of Parma had subdued a fair amount of the northern low countries where the last revolters were holding out. He was on the verge of gathering the forces and supplies for a final blow when Philip II went full retard and ordered Parma to stop the Netherland campaign and march south and enter the French Civil War, where a catholic victory might well have secured him the crown in that country. It was still an extremely dimb move and cost Philip the borthern Netherlands as the diversion south gave the Dutch precious time to consolidate their position. Parma was also like "wtf nigga"
