You're assuming all religion is a static and traditional system. Even with vast theological literature, the 'answers' are frequently given on the spot, reforms are made, and in the first place denominational differences can affect even daily life.

I would say no. In my experience, people don't stop searching for meaning just because they are religious. Religions dont give straight answers, so people are free to pursue the truth within them.

Personally, i think people need to really see the light themselves before they can just believe things. I'm christian, but I didn't become christian until after I started seeing God, so i dont feel like im cheating in any way.
