>First, we state the basis for both the Bible and the Koran (general information)
>Then we discuss in what ways both respectively impacted both society and politics
The Bible is based on the Tora and was extended by the new testament (1200 B.C. - 135 A.D.)
Is it a legitimate argument between two opposing parties in a theological discussion for one of them to quote The Bible as evidence of the correctness of christianity? Surely the other party isn't obliged at all to accept it. Same applies to other revealed religions.
>>2883863 we should keep this as objective as possible.
This is more about the historical side than about the religious side of things.

It's also not about which religion is the one true belief.

The Muslims believe the Koran was written by their prophet Muhamad over the course of 22 years until his death (610 A.D. - 632 A.D.).
But the official version is dated back to 644 A.D. - 656 A.D.

Koran is a word of god that sent to Mohammad verse by verse over 22 years via the angel Gabriel(most important angel in islam).Back then when Mohammad got the verses they memorized it or wrote down to bones or animal hide.Caliph Omar united all the verses into a book.
The Old Testament and the Gospels are stories, while the Quran, more in the style of Leviticus and Paul's letters, is more of a list of commandments by someone.
That's why I've always felt that Muhammad was influenced a lot by Paul, as both of their styles are remarkably similar

Oh, and the impact of this is that much of the Bible allows for interpretation, as you can have a lot of different meanings to the same story. With the Quran this is mich harder
The Bible states that there is only one God and how to worship him in order not to be sent to hell upon death. If his followers act as stated they are assured a place in heaven.

When defining hell and heaven it's important to mention, that everything's an interpretation and even the church changed their interpretation at times.
