So as we all know mythology is mixxed and muddled with history of the ancient world when it is placed in any form of media, any book, television show, article on a news or entertainment site, video, video game, or mostly comic book takes heavily from mythology and ancient history everywhere even meso american and african mythology, but there seems to be one place that lacks any notice despite being very close and also very modern compared to places like egypt for example, whereas people had to go out in the desert and dig up buried tablets and buildings to find, in irealand wouldn't this be just as findable as say viking nordic mythos?

Why is irish celtic mythology so none existent?

I assume it's because Irish mythology and history was not as moralistic and purposed as other sources.

While you could get a clear moral out of the history of rome or the mythology of greece you the irish gods and its history were wrapped in mystery and shadowed in vagueness. It's arbitrary and not moldable for a purpose.

There's plenty of media that takes inspiration from Irish mythology. Just think about how prevalent Banshees and Leprechauns are in fiction or even just the general cultural lexicon.

You've got movies like The Secret of Kells or Song of the Sea, video games like Nioh or The Witcher, comic books like Sláine and Hound, etc.

You're right though it is probably less well known than other legendary traditions. Like

Says Irish mythology and pre-modern Irish society more generally is very esoteric and weird. Not really palatable for the average viewer.

Don't bully us, we are a proud people constantly united... united against hating limey nosey brits who can't keep their constantly failing empire together unless they invade and steal something from another nation, then destroying said nation.

I hope to God Irish mythology doesn't become the next big thing. American Vikingboos were absolutely unbearable when Skyrim came out.

Can you imagine all the overweight "Celtic Warriors" who'd invade from Burgerland?

Don't worry african mythology, hindu, and native american mythology will be (but don't worry they all "the same thing" because they all come from black brothers and sisters of african descent unlike all those evil white religions you are talking about)

I wouldn't mind east asian mythology being brought up more often instead of weeaboo crap actually...

>rather old and simple shield
It's a targe, a shield characteristic of Ireland and Scotland. What makes you think it's old and simple? They could be very elaborate. Pic related.
>soear
Spears are the primary weapon of basically every civilisation, of course the Irish used them
>Roman gladius
It's not a gladius, it's a fairly typical Irish sword of the period according to Rynne's typology
>bowie knife
It's a scian, bowie knives are a modern invention

It's set in the 7th-9th century as you can see by the captions

Whatever happened to Feng Shui? It used to be that everyone who could afford to wanted to ensure that their new end table didn't upset the qi of their living room, but it's pretty much been forgotten by now. Is it just a stale meme here in the west?

I think this is where it boggs down.
Also, how are you going to explain to someone that Chinese heaven is a vast imperial bureaucracy supported by ponzi scheming the living into sending them tax money?

Arthurian legend is from Britons.
They're making a movie right now based on it.

>Chinese heaven is a vast imperial bureaucracy supported by ponzi scheming the living into sending them tax money?
So what if the depiction of heaven's hierarchy reflects a classical Chinese political structure?

If anything this makes it closer to present day "representative" bureaucracy in the West than any heaven portayed as a benevolent fantasy kingdom.

There's a thread on /lit/ over how wuxia and xianxia are popular on the internet.
