Why do so many spergs go for a history degree?

You cannot become an ambassador / policy consultant without a deep knowledge of (modern) political history.

Of the spergs that do go to college, most of them are in engineering/computer science, not history.

You don't have to be interested in something to take it. Having a math degree you're disinterested in is exponentially more valuable than a history degree you're passionate about by virtue of it being math.

Not every career requires a degree in math, so pursuing a worthless degree in a subject you're not interested in is worse.
