Is this accurate?

In my opinion, no, too many of those countries have nothing in common with one another.

Which ones?

France and Britain are wholly different cultures.
Scandinavia is only loosely similar to the North Sea countries, and not really at all like the Baltics.
Ukraine and arguably Poland belong entirely in Eastern Europe.

>France and Britain are wholly different cultures.

Obviously, but I think they have more in common than Britain (or really England) and any other region with all the diffusion of populations and cultures over history.

I was thinking about doing an alternate version where I eliminate the Central Europe meme region and just call all the German-speaking areas "western Europe", except for Lower Saxony and Schwelsig-Holstein, and declare Britain as Northern Europe. Do you think that would be more accurate? If so why is it more accurate for Britain to be Northern rather than Western? If not, then if it's not Northern or Western, then what is it?

>Ukraine and arguably Poland belong entirely in Eastern Europe.

The only part of Ukraine I included in Central Europe is one part that was historically Polish.
>>
>>2830875
7/10 the Baltic countries belong in Central Europe culturally

Put Romania and besbaria in the Yellow as well as western Ukraine and Western Belarus in the light blue and it's pretty good.

Croatia being in a separate region than Serbia and Bosnia is just a joke. They literally speak the same language. the only real difference between them is religion.

wtf do the baltics have in common with central europe

A shared history, attitude and appearances for one.

They really different despite being so close.

You think North Italy should've been part of western rather than central Europe?

Portugal and most of Spain (i.e. the Spanish parts) are not western.
>>
>>2831166
Lithuania, like Poland and Ruthenia was part of the Central European sphere and Latvia/Lithunia were part of Livonia.
>>
>>2831177
>appearances

Baltics look like Northern Europeans, because culture aside, they ARE Northern Europeans. Estonia is more northwards than Jutland. That has an effect on the phenotype.
>>
Regions often overlap. You'd be better off removing all borders from that map and making overlapping areas instead of a highly autistic state-by-state map.
>>
>>2831195
But the ring of Iceland, Flanders, Netherlands, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein/Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Pomerania, East Prussia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, and Norway looks so aesthetic.
>>
>>2831202
You figure Lithuania belongs in the same region of Poland. Latvia is also baltic like Lithunia and was part of the Polish Lithuania commonwealth for a long time so it's logical to put it with Poland and Lithunia.

That leaves Estonia. I can honestly see Estonia going either in Northern Europe or Central Europe but personally it seems more tied to central Europe.

Not really. It's more "what the CIA finds practical for geopolitical reasons."

Greece has no reason to be lumped with Italy and every reason to be lumped with the Baltics. Croatia has more reason to lumped with Italy than Greece.

Romania is not eastern, but Bulgaria usually is considered eastern. Putting them both as Balkan should be fine tho.

>States false as if talking for everyone in England and then states "we loathe the muslim invaders. Poles are OK, we've had enough of brother wars. Time to route the Saracen." unironically thinking that this statement is anything other than refined autism.
Yeah nah m8 most anti immigration individuals in the UK hate Poles and Romainas as a lot of them moved to the UK since 2004/2007, taking unskilled jobs from lesser educated Brits who in turn are more likely to vote right wing parties on an immigration basis rather than economic one.
Further more in regards to >>2833050 and >>2833157 They hate the EU because if say Germany accepts however many migrants and gives them German citizenships, then the UK can't prevent them from coming to our island because they are now EU citizens (This is a problem as the domestic policy of one country effects all others especially wealth countries with generous welfare found in Western and Northern Europe, and yet not every state gets a say). Moreover the EU keeps expanding eastward to poorer countries of former Warsaw pact and thus like Poles and Romanians they will also come west, especially Turks if they get in. Plus for the most part Indians and especially commonwealth Africans assimilate with British culture where as Poles keep there past identity to the point where on TFL buses there are ads only in Polish not in English. Immigration tbqh isn't really a problem as long as they assimilate to host culture and provide skilled jobs we need (which could be achieved through a points system) but the EU does quite the opposite removing prerequisites to come in and promoting the maintenance of ones own culture after moving to a new host nation. Its literally subconscious stalinization moving people around and blurring boarders into one big mess which will lead to an United Europe.

Not really because the difference between Soviet hegemony and Non-aligned is irrelevant now that socialism has fell.

My point is that the most important division we live with today is still that between Western Europe and the ex socialist block.
>>

Not really. Greece has far less in common with Germany than czech republic does despite them both being part of NATO during the Cold War.

Apparently Castile has more things in common with Slovenia than with the Basque Country or Aragon.
