These things happened often but were short lived among Serbian and Bosnian nobles, more so in Bosnia because it was less centralized.
Irredentism isn't really about logic, it's slapping your flag over every inch of land that a country "held" for however little time.
Also, due to the geography taking land on either side of the river would only be temporary.
