It's quite interesting since Muhammad was only meant to be the prophet of the Arabs according to the Quran.

We sent not an apostle except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom.
Surah 14:4 (Yusef Ali)

This is the main passage and it sortof very difficult to understand.

While we were sitting with the Prophet in the mosque, a man came riding on a camel. He made his camel kneel down in the mosque, tied its foreleg and then said: "Who amongst you is Muhammad?" It's "Arabic" in the same way Catholicism is "Roman", as in (Sunni) Islam wasn't made to be a form of Imperialism but developed by well-established imperialists who were looking to create their own form of Romanitas. Other forms of Islam are either more chauvinistic or inclusive for that reason.

Well, is it really imperialism when political sibjugation doesn't follow cultural subjugation? Aside from the early caliphate stage, the muslim world has historically been very fractured, and it's kind of hard to argue that arab society has held any sort of primacy over turkish or persian society. In fact, I dare say persians in particular would quite resent the implication.

Corpus Quran is probably the most coherent, but the Arabic of the Quran itself is extremely incoherent by any standards of Arabic writing, it's assumed by Muslim before they ever examine the text itself. They self-serve themselves with the idea that the Quran is the most beautiful book in the world and make one of the most silliest challenges that of course was never meant to be challenge but to self-affirm itself.

Surah 2:23

And if ye are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a surah of the like thereof, and call your witness beside Allah if ye are truthful. (Pickthall)

And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true. (Ali)

And if you are in doubt as to that which We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a chapter like it and call on your witnesses besides Allah if you are truthful. (Shakir)
