Why doesn't /his/ make a wikia with recommendations?
>>2807433
Because historiography varies so wildly and topics are so niche that it's rather pointless due to how large the wiki would have to be. We'd be far better off with a stick that teaches basic research techniques such as where and how to get books for topics they are interested in rather than creating a wiki but mods have ignored suggestions to do so.

How often are actual books cited or recommended on /his/, as opposed to youtube channels, memes, or /pol/ charts?
>>2807595
>recommended
Quite often actually, but quality is mixed.
>cited
I can count the number of times I've seen actual academic books cited on one hand and I've been here since the board opened.

What are those sub folders you added to ottoman and middle east?
