Educate your opponent while under discussion, not with petty insults or overtly loaded words that need lots of unpacking, but rather simple and easy to understand language in neutral/positive manner.

That's for personal approach. On a national/state level, logic class should be mandatory in k-12 schools.

Logic, Language, Science, History, Civics, Math, Art.

Don't let yourself get baited. If it seems like a conversation is getting derailed, just stop. Don't respond at all, just stop. Back in the day, there was a general understanding on the web that you oughtn't to feed trolls. 4chan is pretty much exclusively feeding trolls.

Also, sometimes you just have to take a break from this place. It really isn't what it used to be. Don't let momentum make you feel like you have to be here. I'll lurk the fuck out of this place before I can find a thread I feel is worth posting in.
