Hello, I'm a Turkroach and I have a question for you guys.
There is an archaelogical dig going on in Tarsus for 6,5 months now. The government is digging up a house, from the inside, without demolishing the house. Here's the catch, the area has been cordoned off. There are intelligence guys and spec ops guarding the area. Snipers, jammers, the whole shebang. I am absolutely positive that it's an archaelogical dig and not something related to Syrian War (weapons cache etc). Even inquiries by members of the parliament remains unanswered.

Here's a quick rundown on Tarsus.
https://en.wikipedia.orgwiki/Tarsus,_Mersin#History

My question is, what could it be that will require such secrecy and spec ops level security. Gospel of Barnabas? Ark of the Covenant? Any ideas?
>>
They could just be protecting the excavations since it's a dangerous zone.
>>
It just just be an important/cool site that's being protected to stop looting. It's not that uncommon for locals to sneak into excavations during digs and steal shit to sell. I've heard of several sites which were basically destroyed because of off-hours looting, or people digging up sites right next to active digs. My first instinct is just that the site is being protected from that.

Is there anything worth protecting there that you know of? Could it be a possible target by a terrorist group? If there hasn't been a threat made, could something have happened that made bureaucracy want to protect it?

I myself live in another hot spot of Roman era ruins and know what kind of measures are taken when there is a dig. I've never seen spec ops, snipers, jammers to prevent photographers and intelligence involvement in a dig before. Sure, there'd be security but not on this scale, just no.

I have absolutely no idea but a potential terrorist attack sounds plausible I guess. Even then, the question still stands. What could it be to attract terrorist attacks and this much secrecy? It must be something globally impactful.

This thread is fucking pointless. What sort of information do you expect to get from people who know even less about what's going on than you do. It seems like you're just trying to stir up conspiracy theorists.

Go away roach, go away.
