Do we have more crazy people nowadays or do we just have more people?
One explanation iirc is more vigorous diagnostic practices, and also the increased visibility of the information age.

Fucking burgers.
I would think we have less crazy people since we know so much more about mental health. But it looks like we have more for the same reason. Can you imagine how many people were batshit insane in, say, the bronze age, that people thought were talking to the gods, or were just in an aggressive kingdom or tribe where it was just considered normal to kill each other over anything?
We have more isolated individuals, due smaller families and community structure.
And higher age & survivability rate, meaning that issues crop up.
And several other reasons.
So basically: A little, but if you had proper statistics, the amount per year of living wouldn't really be bigger.
In old time people weren't crazy they were possessed by demons and shit like it should be. Once again technology and science ruined everything.

We have more media focus on crazy people, along with more tools for people to do crazy things, and more stigma against crazy people seeking help.
>Be mentally I'll
>Want professional help
>Treatment may result in difficulty getting certain jobs and curtailing of certain rights
>Decide not to get help
>End up shooting up a school
>Libtards say "See?!? This is why we need background checks for firearms!"
>Laws get written discriminating against the mentally ill
>The next guy doesn't seek professional help either
>And so on

>Do we have more crazy people nowadays
Technically no.
We have more pill pushers and more big pharma making money.
>the OP actually thinks that a person that says: leave me alone, I'm not sick, has a proper treatment consisting on isolation, tying up and so on...
