if they were starting literally from scratch the socialists would certainly win since they can organize as a collective to construct basic infrastructure which isn't possible for the capitalists until enough capital is accumulated to pay for the investment.

I don't believe socialism could work but I could see it working in your example simply because the socialists that would sign up to join socialist town would all believe in their cause.

Unless both populations are both of various ideologies I can see both working perfectly as intended.

Sure in theory you're correct and if you could find 3000 volunteers to build a society with you then you would be the richest among them. In the end you can't force people to accept your lush silky hair to be worth money in the same why that you can't force everyone to agree to follow your system of govt.

Ancapism would become the neo feudal dystopia it already promises and the Ancoms would turn into micro states no different from Ancapland.

Also it has to be a bunch of normal people embedded with a group of actual Ancoms/Ancaps otherwise they would put aside everything just to prove to the world their system works.
