That year Canada almost turned into a US satellite and economic puppet that would inevitably have been annexed later on if it wasn't for a small group of canadian senators realizing that this free trade agreement would have been a disaster for their country, also the US almost bought greenland from denmark after ww2

I think there were some theoretical plans after or before ww1 to do a white flag and try again but it never amounted to anything. WW1 happening also shifted their threat assestment to elsewhere other than britain being their greatest enemy.
